Tree And Mushroom Woodburned Spoon

Purchased from a thrift store, this old risotto spoon has been given new life with a beautiful woodburning of trees and mushrooms with roots and mycelium intertwined, a relationship many species of trees and mushrooms share. Pyrographic artist Devin Watson hand selects quality secondhand wooden items with varying degrees of wear and cosmetic damage, then lovingly restores them to their original glory, mainly with sandpaper and hard work. He then creates a design specific to that item, and using his woodburning tool he burns the design by hand into the piece. This means every product sold by Watson Wood Art is a one of a kind handmade creation that attempts to increase the sustainability of our world by giving new life to old and forgotten items. Spoon is 30 cm (12 inches) long and finished with hemp oil and beeswax.
